Stay Within!

We've all been in lockdown for more than a year now, yet we still haven't cracked the code for avoiding C-19!

Is it the vaccine? Is it the Kadha? Is it the steam?

Trust me, the kind of things I've done to keep myself fit through the year, I have never tried as many odds before.

  • I've had more Kadha in the year than I've had all my life (I legit feel that it has replaced my coffee, more like one day I'm going to walk into Starbucks and order myself a Kadha, with extra sugar 🙈)
  • I've inhaled so much steam that I feel, rather than smoking hookah rings, I've become a Pro in making eucalyptus oil steam rings.
  •  I wash my hands after touching anyone and anything, even if it is my room door handle, lowkey feel my future BF is first going to get spray-sanitized before I meet him🤭 (there goes my future BF, Tata bye-bye)
  • I've done so many exercises and so many workouts in just 2020 that I can surely beat Milind Soman in the barefoot race (lol, too far, just kidding)
  • I do also think this is the longest time I've stayed at home, and the more I'm at home, the more I've started looking homeless (what's more comfortable than jammies for WFH)
  • Also, I low-key feel the walls at my home have started looking down at my OOTD (Outfit of the Day) and listening to my gossip sessions. (Do walls have ears for real?)🙄

But what is it I am still missing out on? Vaccine? Yes! But aren't people still getting covid after the vaccine? What exactly is the MI Code for cracking Covid?

While all of us are playing our part in staying safe and healthy, keeping our body fit, our throat hydrated, and our oxygen at safe levels, we might have missed out on our spiritual and mental health all this while.

  • Haven't we all complained about excess workload in WFH? And those extra chores in Work For Home?
  • Haven't we all cribbed about stressful online classes?
  • Aren't we all super bored about having to stay at home?
  • Aren't we all complaining about what next to do? What more to keep ourselves occupied?
  • Have we taken a holiday ever since WFH or Study from Home started?
  • Have we shared lunch with anyone ever since at home? Family, yes! But most of the time with a laptop, no?
  • Where did those gossip sessions at tea-break go? Weren't they a necessity before?

Only the other day, when I was casually conversing with my mentor, I caught onto a nice thing he had to say "We've all tried to stay at home to protect ourselves from Covid-19, I think it's time we stay within ourselves"

That is so true. While we may not have realized it, but our work-home-dinner-preparation-sleep routine has slowly turned to a sleep-work routine (with munching here and there). While we may seem to know what everyone's doing on Social Media, we might have been missing out big time on real-time interactions. Ever tried asking a friend how a Dalgona coffee is made? Or how are they keeping well mentally? Google seems to have all the answers, right? But, of all the suggestions I may have heard or read, I think the most precious of them all was what I collected from my parents (taunts? just kidding) advice-

Pause. Breathe. Laugh. Feel. Live. Reflect!

This blog's idea was given by my mom and inspired by my dad's daily routine of asking me to check my oxygen levels, to take steam and do whatnot. Also, the title was inspired by my office mentor Pankaj sir!
